Equine-Assisted

Leadership Workshops

Learn from the masters of non-verbal communication and leadership.

Leadership Workshop Intentions:

  • To provide a relaxed learning environment to people who are new to the horse world.

  • To offer guided interactions with horses using skills that can translate to interactions in daily life.

  • To connect people to equine-related organizations as new volunteers, donors or advocates.

  • To raise awareness of how incredible these animals are and what they are up against in the domestic world.

Why Horses?

  • As prey animals, horses are hyper-vigilant by nature, always assessing their surroundings for danger, ready to take flight. The safer they feel in the hands of a confident leader, the more relaxed they become.

  • Horses are non-verbal, and assess the confidence of their leaders by reading energy and body language, a nuanced skill that can be developed by working with horses and practiced in the office.

  • Working with horses in an unfamiliar environment can be intimidating. Establishing a leadership role with a horse increases confidence that can be carried into any new challenge in life. Participants who share this experience often feel a sense of comradery and bonding.
