Equine-Assisted
Leadership Workshops
Learn from the masters of non-verbal communication and leadership.
Leadership Workshop Intentions:
To provide a relaxed learning environment to people who are new to the horse world.
To offer guided interactions with horses using skills that can translate to interactions in daily life.
To connect people to equine-related organizations as new volunteers, donors or advocates.
To raise awareness of how incredible these animals are and what they are up against in the domestic world.
Why Horses?
As prey animals, horses are hyper-vigilant by nature, always assessing their surroundings for danger, ready to take flight. The safer they feel in the hands of a confident leader, the more relaxed they become.
Horses are non-verbal, and assess the confidence of their leaders by reading energy and body language, a nuanced skill that can be developed by working with horses and practiced in the office.
Working with horses in an unfamiliar environment can be intimidating. Establishing a leadership role with a horse increases confidence that can be carried into any new challenge in life. Participants who share this experience often feel a sense of comradery and bonding.
